Starting near Mexican Hat, Utah, and ending in Garden City near the Idaho border, the UTBDR takes riders through a lineup of iconic destinations, including the Valley of the Gods, Moab, the Abajo and La Sal Mountains, Onion Creek, Nine Mile Canyon, and the rugged Wasatch Range.

Expect a variety of terrain—from deep sand and technical rock to mud that becomes impassable when wet. Flash storms can quickly wash out roads, and the route includes optional expert sections for those seeking a serious challenge. This is one of the most visually striking and technically diverse BDRs, with no shortage of both scenery and excitement.

Ideal Riding Season: May through June and September through October. Avoid July and August due to extreme heat and the monsoon season, which brings flash flooding and unsafe trail conditions.

Very detailed, and easy to use. I have done several BDR and this is the first map I have purchase, and I’ll be getting one every BDR from now on, can’t always count on GPS, great back up.

Not what I expected

I was thinking these were maps of multiple trails not just a destination across the state. However the paper and finish are very nice ! Disappointed it’s only 1 main track

Hi Jeff, thank you for your purchase, please allow me to give you a little explanation ... the BDR (Backcountry Discovery Route), which is a separate company from us, exists to build one single route across a state, therefore their maps only show that one route across the state. If you are looking for routes around an entire state you would be most interested in our Adventure Series maps.
