The Mid-Atlantic BDR is a 1,080-mile backcountry adventure motorcycle route that winds through the remote and historic landscapes of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Designed specifically for dual-sport and ADV riders, this scenic route blends dirt, gravel, and rural paved roads to deliver an unforgettable ride through the heart of the Appalachian Mountains.

Beginning in Damascus, Virginia, and ending in Lawrenceville, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, the route primarily follows forestry roads and quiet country lanes, offering riders a mix of terrain that is both approachable and rewarding. Along the way, you’ll pass through majestic hardwood forests, rolling farmland, Amish communities, and historic battlefields and landmarks that shaped the early story of America.

Whether you're chasing sweeping mountain vistas, charming rural towns, or the serenity of backcountry travel, the MABDR offers a perfect balance of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and thrilling two-wheeled exploration.

Map is very well prepared

I’ve studied the map briefly in anticipation of a Mid-Atlantic BDR ride this Summer. I can already tell it will be helpful. Thank you for the heavy weight and water proof paper used for these maps. It will actually survive a ride when it rains! Thank you Butler for making these first rate maps available to the riding community
