Starting in Mammoth Lakes at the breathtaking Minaret Vista, the route travels north through the Sierra Nevada, winding past conifer forests, lush mountain meadows, and along remote ridgelines before descending into the high desert of the Modoc Plateau near the Oregon border.
This route delivers the best of Northern California dual-sport riding—from blissful forested two-tracks and rugged canyon climbs to peak-top fire lookouts with panoramic views. Riders will discover historic inns dating back to the 1800s, abandoned mining towns, and geological wonders scattered across the landscape.
With optional expert sections and multiple challenging segments, this route caters to riders of varying skill levels and offers opportunities to push your limits. The CABDR-North is more than just a ride—it’s a deep, immersive experience through one of the most varied and scenic ADV regions in the West.
