COURT BUTLER

Growing up in the mountains of Colorado, Court's curiosity for the outdoors grew from a very early age. This, coupled with the fact that he has always been fascinated with maps of all kinds, help mold him into our master map maker.

Court and his wife Tammy, who met through their shared love of rock climbing, came up with the idea for Butler Maps in 2007 after years of trying to find an easier way to plan motorcycle trips on the best roads. Court had a family friend (Scott Calhoun), who, along with Court and his father, spent the next two years, 2008 - 2010, riding throughout the Rocky Mountain states, cumulatively amassing over 250,000 miles of documented riding in an attempt to release our first five printed maps in the G1 Series lineup: Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. And so Butler Maps had begun!

That young boy is still alive and well in Court, along with his wanderlust and curiosity for what might be around that next bend, atop the next mountain or passively waiting to uncover over that next hill. When he is not doodling on maps and scratching on pieces of paper, you can find Court mountain biking, rock climbing, playing the saxophone or just catering to that kid who endlessly wants to journey outside.
