COURT BUTLER

Growing up in the mountains of Colorado, Court's curiosity for the outdoors grew from a very early age. This, coupled with the fact that he has always been fascinated with maps of all kinds, help mold him into our master map maker.

Court had spent years searching for a better way to plan motorcycle trips on the best roads, which led to the idea for Butler Maps in 2007. He teamed up with his business partner and cofounder, Scott Calhoun, and, with the help of Court’s father, they spent the next two years (2008–2010) riding throughout the Rocky Mountain states. Together, they logged over 250,000 miles to develop the first five maps in the G1 Series: Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. And with that, Butler Maps was born!

That young boy is still alive and well in Court, along with his wanderlust and curiosity for what might be around that next bend, atop the next mountain or passively waiting to uncover over that next hill. When he is not doodling on maps and scratching on pieces of paper, you can find Court mountain biking, rock climbing, playing the saxophone or just catering to that kid who endlessly wants to journey outside.
