If high elevation riding is your thing, the Colorado BDR delivers with some of the highest mountain passes in the U.S. accessible by motorcycle. This 691-mile adventure motorcycle route begins at the iconic Four Corners—where Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah meet—and winds its way north through the heart of the Rocky Mountains, ending at the Wyoming border.

Riders will conquer a series of legendary alpine passes, many topping 12,000 feet, including Ophir, Corkscrew, Hurricane, California, Cinnamon, Cumberland, Cottonwood, Weston, and Hagerman Pass. The altitude may leave you a bit breathless, but the jaw-dropping scenery and epic riding will make it all worthwhile.

The terrain is as varied as it is beautiful, combining rocky dirt roads, high-elevation trails, sandy sections, and occasional water crossings to keep even seasoned riders engaged. From dense forests and wildflower meadows to rugged peaks and remote backcountry valleys, this route showcases the best of Colorado’s ADV riding.

Ideal Riding Season: July through September is optimal. Some sections may be passable by late June, but high mountain passes often remain snowbound until mid-summer depending on the snowpack.

Killer, we went for it

Bought the CBDR map. Looked it over a gazillion times, formed a day dream and slept on it for a while, letting it simmer, then brew, then cook. Called the boys, planted the seed and before you knew it started the logistics. Downloaded a few waypoints, the boys showed and off we went!! My suggestion, buy the map, start dreaming.
